A lambing snare takes quite a bit of strain during a lambing, particularly a bad one. Although this is the strongest and best wire I have found to use for the job, it is not unbreakable!! I have only ever managed to stretch the plastic coating on the wire but never actually broken the wire itself. You may choose to replace your wire if this happens or you may decide to change the wire between seasons or even farms if you lamb on several different farms a year. The design of this wire makes this very easy and cheap! Just undo the clamp at the bottom using an allen key and the wire can be replaced still re-using the same handle and clamp.
