NEW! Calving aid/wire/snare

🐄 This is an exciting new product designed to help with difficult calvings.  Its purpose is to make it easier to be able to reach those places that are difficult to get to with a calving rope, in particular when a head or a leg is back.  It has also proven to be very useful getting dead calves out.

🐄 It is constructed of strong plastic coated stainless steel wire rope, with a plastic handle at one end and a slider at the other end. The slider enables the wire to act as a noose/snare that tightens around what you want to get into position when you pull on the handle. The wire is stiff enough to be able to be pushed into position, but flexible enough to tighten, but without cutting in.

🐄 The slider has been specifically designed so that it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand to make guiding the wire inside the cow more accurate.  Its rounded and smooth edges ensures that the cow is not damaged during use.

🐄 The plastic construction of the whole product makes cleaning and disinfecting straightforward and practical.  

🐄 This product has been trialled on several large dairy farms over the past year and the feedback has all been very positive, particularly when trying to get a dead calf out.  It has proven to be a very useful tool to have alongside the rest of your calving equipment and has been reported to be far easier to use than a rope.  It is something that you hopefully won’t need very often, but it will be just the thing that you (or your vet) will need when that really awkward calving presents itself. 

*** Please note!!  This product is only to be used to get a head or a leg for example into position, so that a rope can be put into place.  It is NOT designed to be used with any excessive force such as for actually pulling a calf out or attaching to a calving jack.
